The italian parliament is going to vote a law which will enable any citizen to force any website administrator to publish a rebuttal written by the citizen, if the citizen feels offended by the website content. No judge/jury will be involved: the allegedly offended citizen will just send an email to the website administrator, and the admin will have to publish the rebuttal/correction proposed by the citizen. Not publishing the rebuttal, will cost at most 12’500 EUR (16’550 USD). As a form of protest, the italian wikipedia (which would probably be submerged by thousands of rebuttal publishing requests) is on strike.
